This badly affects both the family and the patients because while some of the mistakes may be reversible, some are irreversible and permanent such as amputating of body parts etc . Some mistakes may also result to death. It is because of such mistakes that the prevention of medical errors course are advisable to be taken by medics.

While in a medical school, it is hard for a student to cover all that is required or needed to become a full medical professional. This is why it is necessary to take the short courses that will help them become well equipped and prepared to become a good and better professional and give one all the wanted knowledge in the field. The studying can be done after completion of the medical training or during the study.

There are many aims and objectives of a student taking this course. It can help in giving them the confidence to do their work knowing that are well equipped and also helps them take better care of the patients in that they now know the root causes of many mistakes that might happen and the solutions to offer. They also advise the patients and their families on better care for themselves. This is good because it prevents the problems from happening again.

The study also shows the health care providers the effects of not having enough knowledge might have from the errors done either knowingly or unknowingly. A patient might also die or lose a apart of their bodies or even be disabled because of their carelessness or lack of knowledge. They learn to become more careful.

Some of them on the patients are:- they are being taken care of by full professionals hence no risks of any mistakes, they do not have to stay in the hospitals longer than necessary, they do not have to pay for any extras due to such negligence and them and their families do not have to worry about having to sue the hospital.

The benefits of the study to the health care providers are also numerous such as, no risk of doing the wrong treatment on a patient which might cause you to lose your job, confidence while working on a patient, knowing exactly how to deal with different problems, and knowing how to identify a certain problem and any corrective measures to take.

These short courses are usually ignored and not taken seriously by many not only medics but others in other courses too but in real sense they add knowledge and empowerment to an individual and the society at large.
