Some of them are very good however and just because anybody and their brother can start one does not mean that all of them should be dismissed. People start sites all the time but there is a problem with that too. Many of the ones that get started are never added to. People start them and then abandon them just as quickly.
Do not let this get you down and keep away from the net. The ones that you find that are gems will remain on your browser for a very long time, if not forever. Or at least as long as the teacher or whoever keeps on writing for them. That is the thing with these, sometimes there might not be new content for a couple days.
Everybody loves to feel special and if you can give that to your visitors they will keep coming and they will bring their friends.
