Best Universities In The West: University Of Arizona

By Conrad Werner

UA, also known as the University of Arizona is a four-year University located in Tucson, Arizona. Tucson is a thriving outdoor community that has hiking, biking, golf and over 350 days of sunshine. The University was the first University in Arizona and was founded in 1885.

The University of Arizona is an incredible school and a must see for any sightseeing college trip. The admission process at any large school is bound to have obstacles. At University of Arizona, there are lots of little people to help you. Just arrive on campus & ask anyone for info. Everyone is really friendly.

University of Arizona is ranked # 24 by the National Science Foundation in research and development expenditures among public and private universities and colleges and # 16 among public universities and colleges. Education is top-notch and the environment is second to none. Small town college atmosphere in a large city! You can't beat it! If you are looking for a safe place to send your high-school kids, and have peace of mind then U of A is the place for them to go. Always on the Top 100 list. University of Arizona is listed in US News among America's Best Colleges, and the Princeton Review lists the University of Arizona as one of "The Best Western Colleges."

UA gets 5 stars in my book! My education was great here. As a teaching and research university, students have access to some amazing minds, especially in the categories of astronomy and nasa-grade planetary science.

As the city of Tuscon, I give 5 stars for the community. I flew my sister here to hang out this summer and she was impressed by everything Tucson had to offer. She had a difficult time choosing where to get food at because of all the great eateries on University Boulevard.

On the campus, she loved wandering through the different buildings and overhearing lectures, exploring different museums, and looking at the architecture.

If you like exciting towns, a top-rated University, lots of sunshine and outdoor activities; University of Arizona should be your cup-of-tea. In areas as diverse as entrepreneurship, astronomy, optics, medicine and dance, the University of Arizona professors and programs are among the nation's best.
