Accounting is a very competitive career to enter now days as more and more students are entering the market with a college degree in accounting. Although a degree can get you far it takes a lot more than that in order to be competitive in this field than just a degree.

When hear of the fifties or sixties, we often think of powerful corporations moving their tentacles around the economy. This has changed as power continues to shift from the government and corporations into the hands of smaller entrepreneurial business.

While change has been seen in this shift it has also been apparent in the technology. Not only has technology brought better customer service and conveniences of communication in businesses but it has also brought with it all around new markets to enter.

Second-Attention to details will help you apply your math skills in a more problem solving environment, which is what accounting is all about. If you are good at seeing the little details and finding discrepancies in documents then you will soar above the competition.

A strong attention to details gives your employers a feeling of security and will provide you with opportunities to progress. It is the bases for becoming a real "authority" in your area.

Third-Memorization is as crucial in this job as it is in Law. You need to be able to pull formulas and concepts out of your head in seconds.

As an accountant you don't have time to search through hundreds of accounting books each time you get a new problem to solve. It is best to remember what you read and apply it as much as possible so you don't forget. Fourth- Research is a major part of accounting even if you are good at memorizing. Accountants run into number problems and new tax laws all of the time.

Although controversial, it has been an efficient allocation of business and it is been very efficient at providing businesses a reasonable way to source hard projects for reasonable prices. Outsourcing is also efficient at keeping business small in order to maintain their adaptive advantage in the market place. Ultimately business that did not adapt quick enough to the insurgent online marketing schemes were passed up by the adaptive businesses. Following the crowd would have been the thing to do at that point.

Now more than ever it is key to gain a modern business education that covers these advances thoroughly and provides you with the skills and knowledge you need to take on some of the online challenges. Those who chose to pursue this education are found much more capable in the modern economy.
